Texas Eats & a GIVEAWAY!!!

Howdy Y'all!!!

I'm FINALLY back...well, to tell you the truth, I got back Sunday but my laptop just got here Wednesday and I've been kinda busy...
We had a fabulouso time in South Texas...let me tell ya...it was H O T - H O T - H O T!!! I'm talking 98-102 everyday...but I'm not complaining, I got a great tan!

Our first stop was McAllen for the first night and then we were Padre Island bound...we were only going to stay a few nights but since things at the office changed a bit, we ended up staying for 5 nights. We had a blast. We went fishing, ate great seafood, spent time with family, saw some old friends and most of all....Matt got to relax (even though he was on the phone for a few hours everyday) and take a break from his crazy schedule...

Ok...Now on to the FUN part. My first giveaway!!!

When I started this blog back in January, I really had no idea what sort of response I would get...in all honesty, I didn't care, I just wanted a place to be able to share my love of cooking with others out there and get some new ideas.  Now, five months later, 44 followers and 206 fans on facebook later...I thought it was time to show you how much ALL of your support means to me!!! Seriously, I have met so many great people in these last few months its incredible and hope to meet many many more in the future.

Up for grabs is my favorite go-to cookbook, La Pinata. Since I just went to Texas, I though this was fitting :) It is a collection of recipes from The Junior League of McAllen. It's first printing was in 1976 and I gotta tell ya, It has a little bit of EVERYTHING!!! You're going to love it, I promise!

Here's all you gotta do...

Leave me a comment telling me what your favorite "go to" cookbook is.

~If you are a fan on facebook and/or a follower on twitter, let me know in your comment and you will get an extra entry for each~

I will choose a winner using random.org and announce the winner next Friday, June 23.

Good Luck!!!

Hi Steph ~ Congrats on all the monumental success with the blog - I love it!

My go-to cookbook is totally my America's Test Kitchen Complete Series cookbook. It's genius. And you know it's great, cause someone else did all the hardwork by testing all the recipes first!

Can't wait to read more :) ~Megan
PS - I follow you on both Twitter and Facebook ;)

All of your food looks delicious! My favorite cookbook is one I just got--Williams-Sonoma's Cooking from the Farmer's Market cookbook. It was an anniversary present for our first anniversary (paper) from J and has lots of great recipes and photos :)

I've liked you on Facebook!

Your trip sounded like a good time and super relaxing! My go to cookbook is actually a homemade cookbook I've made up of Dusty and my favorite family recipes. Can't go wrong there with the classics!

My "go to" Cook Book, is one I put together for my family 10 yrs. ago. It is filled with all the recipes I grew up with. I only have my copy and one I saved for my daughter, they are like "gold" to me.

Steph, you make food look amazing, I don't even eat meat and I'm still impressed and hungry by all your pictures. I always think, Matt must feel pretty lucky to have such great meals, and then I think poor Todd, if he only knew...

My go-to cookbook is a better homes and garden basics. It gives recipes for even the simplest stuff like pancakes and pie crust. Maybe if I had a better go-to cookbook my dinners might be a little more exciting.

And I am a Facebook fan!!!

Hey Steph! Of COURSE I'm a follower on Facebook AND...lately, my favorite go-to cookbook is "The Splendid Table's How to Eat Supper." It was a wedding gift from my aunt and uncle and is chock full of helpful tips on everything from picking out the best diced tomatoes to delicious recipes. I love it! The authors' passion for food really shines through and it's so inspiring!

Congrats on your successful blog! Hopefully we have a house soon so I can unpack my kitchen. Dying to get back into the swing of things!!
